Along the Makapuu trail you will see cactus. It can be quite hot here, even in the winter, so bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. Much of the trail is uphill as well. However, the views are spectacular and make it all worthwhile. There is a picturesque lighthouse and plenty of rugged coastline, and in the winter you may also see whales from this trail.
