Pupukea Beach Park - Shark's Cove

Shark’s Cove is one of the standard snorkeling sites on Oahu, located on the north shore. It can be quite choppy in the wrong time of year (esp. winter). Even in the summer, it is hit or miss. Showers and restrooms area available nearby. Snorkelers generally enter the water from the shallow area to the left, and swim out between boulders into the main part of the bay. The water gets very deep very quickly. Shark's Cove has very little reef, but many colorful fish can be seen among the boulders and rock formations. Sea turtles are also often present in the area. Be alert to water conditions, snorkel with a friend, and know your limitations. A snorkel at Shark's Cove can be combined with several other north shore attractions, such as Waimea Audobon Center or Waimea Bay Beach.
