Bishop Museum

The Bishop Museum is an excellent place to visit for an introduction to the history, culture, and ecology of the Hawaiian islands. In the many excellent exhibits, the history of the Hawaiian monarchy is traced from the early days of King Kamehameha through the early days of statehood. Separate displays discuss the history and culture of the many ethnic and national groups that have influenced Hawaiian history. In addition, the museum offers some of the most authentic Hula performances in all of Hawaii. The museum also includes a planetarium that occasionally offers an excellent program on Hawaiian navigation. Visit their main website under "external links" (very bottom of page) for more information.
