This is the Keanae Peninsula, about halfway along the road to Hana. The turnoff to the road down onto the peninsula is about a half mile past mile marker 16. The Keanae Peninsula is home to the town of Keanae, with beautiful historic churches, peaceful palm trees, productive taro farms (a Hawaiian staple food), and endless coastal views. This is a great place for a picnic lunch.
