Iao Needle is a famous landmark in north-central Maui, just west of Wailuku and Kahului, in Iao Valley park. This park is a nice place to go for a walk to enjoy the cool air and tropical vegetation. Some people swim in the stream that flows through here as well, although leptosperosis can be an issue in Hawaiian streams. Always obey posted signs and never leave valuables in your car in Hawaii.
