Now we descend from the clifftop views of the Kalalau Trail eastward onto Kee Beach itself. This photo of the trail, from near the trailhead, shows the typical terrain for the trail. The Sierra Club has given this trail a "strenuous" difficulty rating, and you can see why: it is steep and rocky. At times it passes through thick vegetation (like here), and at other times you walk along the exposed cliff, quite near to precipitous drop-offs. (Know your limits and check the conditions before attempting any part of this trail.)
