Continuing counterclockwise around Crater Rim Road, the Jaggar Museum offers our first view of the Halemaumau crater in the distance. The Jaggar Museum is an excellent interpretive and research center with a number of displays explaining the geology of the volcanic activity in the area. A short drive past the museum is a closer overlook and trail to the rim of Halemaumau Crater.
