Waikiki is the most popular destination in Hawaii by far. Located on the southern coast of Oahu, just east of Honolulu, Waikiki is an amalgamation of tourist hotels, restaurants, apartments, condos, shopping, and nightlife. Just west of Waikiki is the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and just east of Waikiki is the imposing Diamond Head State Monument. In addition to the great beach, the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium are nearby. If you aren't in a hurry, you can walk to wherever you want to go in Waikiki; parking can be quite a hassle. You may want to consider renting a car to explore the other parts of Oahu, however. Most tourists miss out on all the Oahu has to offer because they never leave Waikiki.
