Continuing east over the island, we see Kalaupapa National Historic Park in north-central Molokai on the Kalaupapa Peninsula. This is the site of a famous leper colony where Father Damien ministered to the lepers, later becoming one himself. You can see the elongated shape of the island in this photo, with south at the top, east to the left, and west to the right.
