About fifteen miles north of Hilo on the Big Island is Akaka Falls State Park. The main attraction of this park is an easy loop trail about a 1-mile in length. Along the trail are views of two incredible waterfalls. If you head right (counterclockwise) on the trail, you will see Kahuna Falls first (pictured). Kahuna Falls drops about 100 feet and is a great appetizer for the main course coming up.
