The Dole pineapple plantation is located just north of Wahiawa in central Oahu. This plantation no longer grows a great quantity of pineapples. Most of the true pineapple farms have long since moved overseas. Still, there are pineapple fields here, and it can be an interesting stop, especially with kids. The visitor center is top notch, with an enormous store selling clothing, magnets, postcards, and every type of pineapple food you can imagine. There is also a snack shop selling pineapple ice cream and fruit drinks as well as lunch fare. Outside you can often see local farmers selling fresh coconut, mango, bananas, and other fruits.
