Makena Beach is the premier beach on the southwest coast of Maui. This wide, long beach is also known as "Big Beach" by the locals. People staying in Kihei often drive down to this beach a few miles south. From this beach you can look across the bay to Molokini and catch a glimpse of the island of Kahoolawe.
