At this point in our tour we are going to move away from Honolulu and Waikiki. Honolulu is on the southcentral coast of Oahu. Most of our tour will proceed counterclockwise from Honolulu, but I couldn't resist showing you this view from the mountains north of Honolulu first. This is Nu'uanu Pali State Park on the Pali Hwy. The Pali Highway cuts across the island from Honolulu on the south/southeast to Kailua on the northeast. This is a beautiful "shortcut", but I want you to see more of the southeast coast, so let's head back to Honolulu and start driving east along the coast instead.
