Looking the other direction from Makapuu Wayside scenic trail, we catch our first glimpse of the northeast coast of the island. The northeast coast is usually where the ocean winds first reach the island, so it is commonly known as the windward side. Sea Life Park is visible in this photo as a set of buildings against the cliff to the left.
