Molokini is a partially-sunken volcanic crater that forms a semi-circular island just off the west coast of Maui. Molokini is a top destination for snorkel tours. The diversity of marine life is high, and the visibility is generally excellent. Conditions vary, but normally the best time to snorkel Molokini is early in the morning. The only access is via chartered tours or private boat. Things can be pretty crowded here; a snorkel tour to Lanai is one possible alternative.
