Kauai Waterfalls
Kauai includes Mount Wai'ale'ale, the spot that receives more annual rainfall than anywhere else on earth. As a result, the island is full of a number of excellent waterfalls. Several of these are located near the cities on the eastern side of the island and are accesible via roadside lookouts. Others, like Waipoo Falls in Waimea Canyon, require a hike to visit, but can be viewed from a distance more easily. There are waterfalls on the rugged northern coast that can only be reached by boat, and waterfalls in the center of the island that can only be seen from a helicopter. If you are a waterfall lover, Kauai is a great island destination.
