Kauai is the only major island without mongoose, so it is covered with wild jungle fowl (called "moa") brought to the islands by the Polynesians. At Puu Hinahina scenic lookout in Waimea Canyon State Park you may catch a glimpse of a mother with her chicks, or a beautiful rooster such as this one.
