The Big Island boasts the largest easily-accessible waterfall in Hawaii, 442-foot Akaka Falls. There are a number of other falls easily accessible from roadside overlooks. Most of Hawaii's waterfalls are located on the eastern side of the island near Hilo, since the east side of the island receives far more rain.
