The premiere beach on the eastern (windward) side of the island might be Lanikai Beach. This photo shows Lanikai and Kailua Beaches from Mokulua Nui island. Lanikai is behind a residential area and has no facilities of its own. Access is via shoreline access points in the residential neighborhood. Parking can be a problem here, so get here early to find the best spot. Another option is adjacent Kailua Beach Park, which has facilities and another excellent beach.
