As you rest on the beach at Waikiki, you might notice the mountains towering behind Honolulu. Up one of these mountains, about a fifteen-minute drive from Waikiki, is the Manoa Falls Trail. The trail itself is usually well-maintained, but it rains a lot up here, so be prepared for mud and mosquitoes. If you bring bug spray, however, you will be richly rewarded for your trouble. The quiet beauty here makes you forget how close you are to all the excitement and commotion of Waikiki and Honolulu.
