Many people fly straight into Honolulu, take a cab to Waikiki, and never venture further. Granted, there is a lot to see in Waikiki, but Hawaii is so much more than surfing lessons and a nap on the beach. Honolulu is a fascinating city with a vibrant cultural history. This church in downtown Honolulu is called Kawaiahao Church. Kawaiahao Church was the first church founded by the first Christian missionaries to Hawaii in the early 1800's. The services are partly in Hawaiian, partly in English. The building is made of large blocks of coral reef, not bricks. If you want to experience some true aloha, hear some Hawaiian language and even see a worship hula, I recommend a visit here.
