One of the greatest places to snorkel on Maui is Honolua Bay on the north coast beyond Kaanapali. You can pay to take a tour boat here, or you can drive here, take a short walk to the gravel beach, and snorkel around the calm, small bay to the best viewing area. Conditions here vary from peaceful in the summer to violent and dangerous in the winter, so ask the locals whether the conditions are good before you go out.
