Mokolea Point
10.2 miles beyond the Honolua Bay overlook, just before Kakahuloa Bay, is a parking area for a short trail that leads down to the coast. The point extending furthest out here is Mokolea Point (pictured). This area is a great place to see the waves crash against dramatic sea cliffs. People were sunbathing on the rocks down below, but of course climbing down a rocky steep trail next to rough sea is dangerous, so do so at your own risk. And do not get too close to the rough water in any case. |
