As we get closer to the island, we see some coastal cliffs. These cliffs are not as dramatic as those of Molokai, but are beautiful nonetheless. Coastal cliffs such as these form when the action of crashing waves erodes away the base of the shoreline. Eventually, the stones above lack support and crumble off into the sea.
