Hawaii has seasons, but not like you think. The climate in Hawaii is fairly constant, and depends more on your position on the islands than anything else. Rain and sun depend most on the prevailing wind direction (see #6). In the winter, the biggest differences are the presence of migrating whales and huge waves on the north shore of each island kicked up by winter storms in the Pacific Ocean. These waves provide fodder for famous surfing and windsurfing contests held during the winter months at beaches that may be calm and flat in the summer.
